“AMA Design was commissioned by URSUS Breweries Romania to redesign their existing Headquarters in the northern business district in Bucharest. The aim was to make the transition from a classic office to a Collaborative Hub where people would return after the pandemic.
The architects initiated the design process during the pandemic. This resulted in a space planning that was atypical until then, but which respected people’s new requirements for organizing their activities. The introduction of a desk-sharing system made the transition from the classical office to a collaborative Hub, where people are happy to come back to when they need to.
URSUS Breweries also chose to follow a new way of working. Consequently, the assigned desk system was replaced by the desk-sharing system, resulting in more flexible workplace settings and in more informal areas, where the collaboration and human interaction would make up for the time when the pandemic disrupted the normal workflow.
The concept contains specific elements from the beer industry, such as authentic beer kegs, bottles and mechanical parts used in the fermentation process, or images from their brand portfolio.
The reception area, which displays most of these brands on the wall, uses the core colors white, red, black and copper tones, from the URSUS Breweries logo, to add depth and contrast through layering.
The work café, depicting a pub with shades of green, attracts people throughout the day, being a multi-purpose area where people can eat, work or organize various events.
The architects implemented the project through a Design & Build contract, managing the entire project from procurement and site supervising to a turnkey delivery of the entire fit-out.”
